Mmmm, Goodie Box Thursday

Here at Trace Ortho Lab, we pride ourselves on the personalized service we provide each and every one of our clients, all of whom are so valuable to us, our business model reflects our desire to treat them as if we work solely for them.

One of the ways we celebrate them and their busy schedules taking care of our communities teeth is through our exclusive Goodie Boxes. Baking relaxes me and I enjoy taking care of others with good food and yummy treats so for the last 2.5 years, I've taken on the role of Trace Ortho Baker, and from our kitchen, I bake up the goodness that goes in our Goodie Boxes for delivery to our clients several times a year in addition to holiday's.

Another one of my passions is searching the web and my beloved collection of cookbooks for the best recipes to share, because really that's where the magic is. Anyone can cook and bake, but figuring out the science of ingredients to create a delicious masterpiece is a trait I admire, and I've compiled quite a collection of recipes on our Pinterest Boards (if you have 953 hours to kill, you'll find everything from dental hygiene to recipes and everything in between).

Today's Goodie Boxes are full of the best Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies I have. Ever. Tasted. The recipe comes from Cooking Classy's Blog which I'm sure has tons more winning recipes so you should definitely check her out. In the meantime, if you're interested in today's Goodie Box recipe, here it is. Otherwise, as per normal, we're more than happy to send our Driver Ian with copies of the recipes when asked.

Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Icing

2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tbsp milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pulse oats in a food processor until partially ground. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and the ground oats.

In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, whip butter, granulated and light brown sugars over medium speed until pale and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until combined after each addition, before stirring in the vanilla. With mixer set on low speed, slowly add in dry ingredients and mix until combined. Allow cookie dough to rest 10 minutes at room temperature.

Drop a couple tablespoons (depending on the size of cookies you want) onto parchment lined baking
sheet and bake about 11 minutes. The cookies should be set but not yet browning on the edges. Let them cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Mix up your icing and dip your cooled cookies right onto the icing, allowing the excess to run off on to other cookies hahaha. Return to wire rack and allow icing to set. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Devour!
